  4. jesus just to strong, he should never of won that, even had to sit up for a few secs to avoid crashing, crazy. Sky lead out train is just none existent compared to HTC, shame, but won’t stop cav bringing home the cake, just sit on Goss like he does every race lol, ledge!

  5. Cav must be missing Renshaw’s power as his last man. It would be a safer final k aswell, the crazy Ferrari situation on stage 3 would not have happened. But can the aussie warhorse settle for always being Cavs lead out?
Maybe his true home would be with Greenedge.

  6. I agree with other comments, sky would do well to approach Renshaw and see if he will join Sky.- buy him out in effect, he was the perfect match to Cav. His move to Rabobank isn’t working the way he planned in my opinion. Buy the way we pronounce Peter Kennaugh’s name here on the Isle of Man as ‘Kenyick.’

  7. I agree – the pattern that’s emerging is that Geraint Thomas is the new Renshaw. He always seems to be right in front of Cav. With Eisel and Thomas, I doubt that he’ll be fighting on his own. But I do think that Team Sky still have some learning to do in order to get up to the standard we all remember for HTC Columbia. Whether that’s realistic, however, is a different question altogether. 🙂

  8. cavendish demostro que es el mejor sprinter del momento estuvo solo en los ultimos 500 metros

  9. In fact the guile and coolness of Cav saved the day for what could have been an embarassing day for SKY – ledout and puffed it…

This will be a tough on when le Tour comes…

BTW, Ferrari huffed, puffed and faded just as quickly.

  10. Agree. The leadout has been poor in the last couple of stages, which is a little odd considering that it has been pretty good recently. But, alternatively, Cav keeps proving that he doesn’t the train to still be in tact in the last 1km to win. He proved it in the Tour last year, and in Copenhagen at the Worlds.

Get him near a finish line, with the peleton still in tact, and the only thing that’s going to beat him is a pile-up. He’s a machine.

  11. Even Geraint isn’t fast enough to be the final leadout man. Mark Renshaw was a really fast sprinter in his own right, which is why he could keep control until right before the finish. Maybe Ben Swift would be a better choice if he recovers before the TdF.

  13. I think it’s just because Kennaugh doesn’t have the power to be part of a high speed leadout, he got brushed aside by the strongmen of Orica Greenedge, if Cav has Danny Pate, Ian Stannard, Bernie Eisel and Geraint Thomas for the tour he has a great leadout.

  14. The sky leadout fell to bits again towards the final 500metres but Cav took advantage of orica greenedges leadout got him into position. Great result for Cav but problems remain with Sky which need to be sorted for TDF, with Team Sky split for wiggins..

  15. Cav even had to ease up at one point when he got squeezed on to the barrier by Goss… and he still won the stage !
